GERMAN POTATO SALAD | |
5 slices bacon, diced 1/2 c. onion, diced 3 tbsp. flour 1 c. hot water 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. vinegar 8 potatoes, cooked with skins on Dice bacon and fry. Remove bacon from pan and fry onions in bacon grease until transparent but not brown. Remove onions. Add to grease in pan the flour, blending well and adding hot water to make a medium thick sauce. Add sugar, salt and vinegar and return bacon and onions to sauce and mix. Peel and slice warm potatoes, being careful not to smash potato slices. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and serve hot. Serves 8 to 10 persons. |
