SOUTH GEORGIA SQUIRREL STEW 
1 gallon cold water
2 squirrels
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 lg. onions, sliced
2 c. fresh okra, sliced
3 c. tomatoes, peeled
2 c. fresh lima beans
2 c. fresh carrots
5 potatoes, diced
4 c. fresh corn

Bring water to a boil. Slowly add pieces of squirrel with bone left in. Be very careful not to boil rapidly at any time. Add salt and pepper. Add onions, okra, lima beans, tomatoes, carrots, and potatoes. Add water occasionally and cook slowly for 4 hours. Then add corn and cook for 1 hour. Lower heat and stir occasionally to prevent scorching. Add 3 ounces of butter just before serving. Yield: 6 servings.
