GRITS & GREEN ONION BAKE | |
2 c. water 1/2 c. quick grits 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese 1/3 c. green onion slices 1/4 c. butter 1 egg, beaten 1/8 tsp. liquid red pepper sauce Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 1 quart round casserole. In large saucepan, bring water to a boil. Stir in grits and salt. Return to a boil, reduce heat. Cook, uncovered 2 1/2 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in remaining ingredients, continue cooking over low heat until cheese is melted. Pour into prepared dish. Bake about 30 minutes. Garnish with strips of green onions. |
