FRESH APPLE CAKE 
1 1/4 c. oil
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. diced raw apples
1 c. raisins
3 c. flour (reserve enough to coat fruit and nuts)
3 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped nuts

Blend oil, sugar, vanilla and slightly beaten eggs. Sift flour with soda and salt. Add oil mixture to dry ingredients. Fold in fruit and nuts. Bake in greased and floured tube pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

SAUCE:

1/2 c. buttermilk
1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda
