CHOCONUT CARAMEL BARS 
1 (11 1/2 oz.) (2 c.) Nestle milk chocolate morsels
2 tbsp. vegetable shortening
1 (14 oz.) Kraft caramels
2 tbsp. water
5 tbsp. butter
1 c. coarsely chopped peanuts

Melt over hot (not boiling) water, Nestle milk chocolate morsels and vegetable shortening. Stir until morsels melt and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat. Pour 1/2 of mixture in 8" foil lined square pan; spread evenly and refrigerate about 15 minutes until firm. Return remaining chocolate mixture to low heat. Combine over boiling water caramels, butter and water. Stir until caramels melt. Stir in peanuts; blend well. Pour over chocolate lined pan. Refrigerate about 15 minutes. Top with remaining melted chocolate and chill 1 hour. Cut 1"x2" pieces. Refrigerate until served. Makes 2 1/2 dozen candies.
