1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 c. M & M's
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream butter, shortening, and sugar until well blended. Add eggs and vanilla. Stir together flour, soda, and salt. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture and stir until well blended. Add chocolate pieces and nuts, and M & M's. Drop dough from teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
