CRANBERRY FRUIT NUT BREAD 
1 c. fresh or frozen cranberries, chopped coarsely
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 tbsp. grated orange peel
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. orange juice
1 egg, well beaten
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease and flour 9x5x3-inch loaf pan. Chop cranberries, nuts, and orange peel; set aside. Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and soda. Cut in shortening. Stir in orange juice, egg and orange peel mixing just to moisten. Fold in cranberries and nuts. Spoon into prepared pan. Bake 60 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
