1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 egg
1 c. chopped pecans (save until last)

Grease bottom and sides of 9x13 pan. Combine 2/3 dry cake mix, butter and egg; mix well. Press in prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes until light brown. Prepare filling.

FILLING:

1/3 box reserved cake mix
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Pour filling over partially baked crust. Sprinkle with pecans. Return to oven and bake 30-35 minutes until filling is set; cool. Cut into 36 bars.
