ASPARAGUS AU GRATIN PIE 
3-4 slices white bread
1 (15 oz.) can extra long tender green asparagus greens, drained
3 eggs, well beaten
1 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese

Trim crusts from bread. Cut each slice in half and place on bottom of well greased 11x7 inch baking pan. Arrange asparagus spears in a row on top of the bread. In a small bowl, combine eggs with milk, salt and pepper. Pour over asparagus and bread. Top with cheese. Bake in a 350 oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
