2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. salt
1 tbsp. alum (available at drugstore)
2 tbsp. cooking oil
2 c. boiling water, colored with food dye

Mix flour, salt and alum. Add all at once cooking oil and boiling water colored with food dye. Knead and let sit for a few minutes. (If too runny, add more flour.) Set out on a tray with such tools as a rolling pin, cookie cutters, toothpicks, garlic press. Store in closed container. Keeps very well.
