GRILLED POTATOES 
Prepare potatoes, cutting as for French fries or scalloped potatoes. Arrange potatoes on a sheet of heavy duty aluminum foil. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Add 1/2 onion, coarsely chopped. Sprinkle potatoes with grated Cheddar cheese, bacon bits, and pats or butter/oleo. Seal securely and place on heated charcoal grill for about 30-40 minutes. A delicious addition to a backyard cook-out. Also may be wrapped in individual servings.
