SHORTBREAD COOKIES 
1 c. Crisco or butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. milk
2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour

Cream the butter or Crisco and sugar together. Add egg, vanilla, milk and mix well. Blend in flour.

Mold the mixture by the teaspoonful into balls, place them on greased baking sheets and press flat with a fork which has been dipped in flour. Bake 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove immediately from baking sheets.
