SHORTBREAD COOKIES 
2 sticks butter (or 1/2 butter and 1/2 butter)
1/2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. flour

Cream butter and sugar for 15 minutes. Add flour; mix until well blended. Press into 9 x 13 inch pan. Flute edges with fork. Poke some holes into mixture. Bake at 300 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. Cut while hot. It is best to remove center piece first. Makes it easier to remove the remaining pieces.

I double this recipe and press into cookie sheet. The sprinkle the top with decorating sugar and bake as directed. Looks nice and adds taste amazing
