MEATBALLS AND TOMATO SAUCE
1 (29 oz.) can tomato puree (I use Contadina or Progresso)
1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
5 c. water
1 tbsp. sugar
1 lg. onion, minced
6 cloves garlic, chopped sm.
1 tbsp. basil
1 tbsp. oregano
1 tbsp. garlic powder
5 or 6 sweet Italian sausage, meatballs (recipe follows)

In 8 quart sauce pot put tomato puree, tomato paste, tomato sauce, water, sugar. Blend well. Add onion, garlic, basil, oregano and garlic powder. Stir and put on burner on lowest heat-simmer. Then fry sausage. Drain on paper towel, then add to tomato sauce.

Next make meatballs: 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 2 tbsp. grated Romano cheese (fresh) 1 egg 1/3 c. milk 1 c. Italian style seasoned bread crumbs

In a large bowl mix well, ground round, salt, pepper, grated cheese. In a small bowl whisk eggs and milk together. Add to meat. Mix in bread crumbs very well. Roll meatballs into 1 1/2 inch size balls. Makes about 18 to 20. Add meatballs to sauce. Simmer tomato sauce, meatballs, and sausage 3 to 4 hours. Make your favorite pasta and garlic bread, and enjoy!
