1 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. milk
2 c. self-rising flour

Cream together sugar and butter. Beat in eggs (one at a time). Add vanilla to milk, fold in flour alternately with milk, making about 4 additions of each. Bake in 2 (9 inch) cake pans or oblong cake pan in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Frost with favorite icing and serve with Joy!
