HUNGARIAN GOULASH | |
2 1/2 lb. beef round steak 1 c. chopped onion 1 garlic clove, minced 1/4 c. all-purpose flour 1 1/2 tbsp. paprika 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. thyme 2 bay leaves 1 #2 1/2 can (3 1/2 c.) tomatoes 1 c. dairy sour cream Brown meat, half at a time, in 1/4 cup hot fat. Reduce heat; add onion and garlic; cook until onion is tender but not brown. Blend in flour and seasonings. Add tomatoes. Cover; simmer, stirring occasionally until meat is tender (about 1 hour). Stir often toward end of cooking. Stir in sour cream. Serve at once over hot noodles. Serves 8. |
