VEGETABLE BEAN SOUP 
1 lg. jar (1 1/2 qts.) cooked Great Northern beans
1 lg. jar water
2 lg. or 3 sm. carrots, shredded
2 lg. or 3 sm. potatoes, shredded
1 lg. onion, minced
3/4 c. celery, chopped
1 c. tomato juice
Ham hocks or jowl bacon, cubed

Boil hocks or bacon until the grease starts to show. Then mix all together and cook in heavy pot. Let it boil hard but be careful that it doesn't stick. Then lower heat and simmer for 2 hours. Season to taste.
