APPLE LOAF 
2/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening
2 eggs
3 tbsp. sour milk or buttermilk
1 c. grated (unpared) apple
2 c. sifted flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Mix together thoroughly sugar, shortening and eggs. Stir in sour milk and grated apple. Sift together and stir in flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Blend in pecans. Pour into well greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. Let stand 20 minutes before baking. Bake until it tests done. Serve warm or cold. Bake in 350 degree oven for 50-60 minutes.
