2 tbsp. Crisco 2 tbsp. paprika 2 med. onions, sliced 1/2 pt. sour cream Chicken breasts or parts Saute onion in Crisco until tender but not brown. Stir in paprika. Put skinned chicken over onion mixture. Add just enough water to cover chicken. For added flavor you can use 1 or 2 dissolved chicken bouillon cubes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cover and cook until chicken is tender. Remove chicken. Thicken sauce with flour and water thickening. Stir in sour cream until well blended being careful not to let mixture boil as it will curdle sour cream. Place chicken back in sauce and let warm until chicken is coated with sauce. Serve with "Sassy" potatoes. SASSY POTATOES: Put about 3 tablespoons melted bacon drippings in 9 x 13 inch pan. Add potatoes which have been cut into 1 inch cubes. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and paprika. Bake uncovered in 350 degree oven until tender. Turn often to brown. |
