3 c. flour
1 c. butter
1 c. milk
3 eggs, separated
1 3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 tsp. baking powder

Cream together butter and sugar; add egg yolks. Sift together flour and baking powder. Add flour mixture and milk but beat after each addition. Blend in lemon extract. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Fold into cake batter. Bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
