ORIGINAL TOLL HOUSE COOKIES 
1 c. Crisco
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. hot water
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. nuts chopped, optional

Cream Crisco and sugars. Dissolve soda in hot water. Combine all ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
