1 1/2 c. hot water
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 eggs
1/2 c. shortening

Pour the hot water over oatmeal and let stand. Meanwhile, mix sugars, soda, flour, cinnamon, eggs and shortening together then add oat mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

ICING:

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. nuts
1 tbsp. milk
3/4 c. butter
1 c. coconut

Spread on cake and stick back in oven for a few minutes.
