MOIST OATMEAL CAKE 
1 stick butter
1 c. quick-cooking oats
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Put oats, butter and boiling water in bowl, cover and st aside 20 minutes. Add sugars and beat, add egg and beat, sift flour, soda, cinnamon and salt together, add to mixture and beat until smooth. Bake at 350 degrees or until done.

BROILER ICING:

6 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. cream or milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. coconut
1 c. chopped nuts

Blend all together, spread on cake, broil lightly until browned as desired.
