APPLE CRISP #2 | |
Wonderful with whipped topping or vanilla ice cream. 4 lg. apples (tart apples, such as Granny Smith are best) 2 c. natural applesauce (the kind with no sugar added) 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed 1/2 c. flour 1/2 c. quick rolled oats 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. butter Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Core apples and peel if desired (tastes fine with peels on). Cut apples into small pieces. Put in rectangular (9 x 13 inch) baking pan. Mix in applesauce with apples and spread evenly in pan. Mix dry ingredients together. Add butter and mix until crumbly. Sprinkle the crumbly mixture onto the apples. Bake about 40 minutes until apples are cooked or crust is golden brown. Cool for 10 minutes. Serve warm. Optional: Top as desired with whipped topping or ice cream. |
