RHUBARB MERINGUE TORTE 
2 cubes butter
2 c. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. nuts
5 c. rhubarb, cut fine
1/4 tsp. salt
6 egg yolks
2 c. sugar
1 c. milk
6 tbsp. flour
Drop of red food coloring
6 egg whites
12 tbsp. sugar
Ground nuts

Crumble together the butter, flour, sugar and 1/4 cup nuts. Pat into 13 x 16 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. While the above is baking, cook over medium heat until thick: the rhubarb, salt, egg yolks, 2 cups sugar, milk, flour. Add a little red food coloring. Pour over the baked crust. Beat the egg whites. Add the 12 tablespoons of sugar gradually. Spread over rhubarb and sprinkle with ground nuts. Bake 15 minutes.
