PEAR NUT BREAD | |
2 or 3 fresh pears (1 c.) 1/2 c. salad oil 1 c. white sugar 2 eggs 1/4 c. sour cream 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. sifted flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 c. chopped walnuts Peel and chop pears, set them aside. Beat together oil and sugar until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time. Add sour cream and vanilla, blend. Sift together flour, salt, soda and spices. Add to sugar mixture and beat well. Add pears and nuts, mix with a spoon. Grease and flour loaf pan, pour in batter and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until loaf tests done. After 10 to 15 minutes, turn bread out onto rack and finish cooling. |
