CORN DOGS 
2 pkg. wieners
20 skewers
1 c. flour
3/4 c. cornmeal
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. dry mustard
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
1 c. milk
1 egg

Heat at least 2 inches of shortening/oil to 375 degrees in deep-fryer. Insert a skewer lengthwise into each wiener. To make batter, combine dry ingredients in mixing bowl cut in shortening. Add milk and egg. Stir to remove most of lumps. Dip wieners into batter. Batter will adhere best to wieners when surface is completely dry. For easy dipping pour batter into drinking glass. Fry in fat until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Drain. Makes 20.
