3/4 c. water
1 tsp. white vinegar
3/4 c. water
2 tbsp. light Karo syrup
1/2 c. Argo starch
1/4 tsp. oil of wintergreen

Combine 3/4 cup water, corn syrup and vinegar in a medium saucepan; bring to a full boil. Stir cornstarch into 3/4 cup water until smooth. Remove boiling mixture from heat. Slowly pour in cornstarch-water mixture, stirring constantly until smooth.

If lumps form, smooth them out with back of spoon against side of saucepan. Stir in oil of wintergreen. May be used immediately but will set to paste consistency in 24 hours. Store in covered jar. Keeps 2 months. Makes about 2 1/2 cups.
