CHOWDER 
1 pkg. green tomatoes
1/2 c. salt
1 med. head cabbage, ground
6 lg. onions, ground
4-6 red peppers, ground
1 qt. vinegar
4-6 c. sugar (to suit taste)
2 tbsp. salt
2 tbsp. mixed pickling spices, tied in a cloth

Grind green tomatoes; add salt and boil about 20 minutes. Drain and add rest of ingredients. Boil about 1/2 hour and seal in jars while hot. Watch while cooking as it will scorch easily.
