Loaf of good Italian or French bread 3 to 4 big tomatoes, garden fresh preferred Olive oil Garlic, pepper, basil Slice tomatoes into medium size chunks. Mince 2 to 3 cloves of garlic, place into 1/2 cup olive oil, add twists of pepper, add basil. Put tomatoes into olive oil mix to marinate. Slice bread 1/2 inch thick, toast dark on both sides, rub garlic cloves into top side. Place on serving tray, cover with tomato, olive oil mix, add salt if desired. Serve room temperature. |
