TORTELLINI ALLA PANNA 
2 (9 oz.) pkgs. fresh tortellini
2 tsp. butter
1 1/2 pts. heavy cream
5 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 c. frozen peas
1/2 c. Parmigiano cheese
1/4 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
Salt and pepper to taste

Melt butter in a medium saucepan. Add the cream. Let simmer for 5 minutes. Add the crumbled bacon. Cook on low heat for 10 minutes. Stir mixture often. Add mushrooms and peas and continue to cook. Add salt and pepper to taste (use salt sparingly, the Parmigiano cheese will add a salty flavor).

Prepare the tortellini as specified on the package. While the tortellini i cooking, add grated Parmigiano cheese to cream mixture. Strain the tortellini and pour the cream sauce over the pasta. Sprinkle with dried parsley. Serve immediately.

Really good flavor, but the sauce is pretty thin. Next time I will start with a light roux instead of just butter.
