ELEGANT FRENCH TOAST 
2 tbsp. sliced almonds
2 (3 oz.) pkgs. cream cheese, softened
Milk
12 slices cinnamon-raisin bread
3 eggs
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
4 tbsp. butter
Confectioners' sugar
Maple syrup

Toast almonds over medium-high heat. Set aside.

Mix cream cheese with 2 tablespoons milk until blended. Evenly spread on 6 slices bread, top with remaining slices.

In pie plate beat eggs, sugar, vanilla and 1/4 cup milk until blended. Heat butter in skillet or griddle. Cut in half and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar and toasted almonds.

Garnish with sliced pear and seedless grapes if you desire. Serve with syrup. (About 390 calories per serving without syrup.) Serves 6.
