GRIT CASSEROLE | |
4 c. milk 1/2 c. butter 2 eggs, well beaten 1 c. hominy grits 1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt 1 1/2 c. grated cheddar cheese Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bring 3 1/2 cups of milk to boiling in medium saucepan. Gradually stir in grits; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Add cheese, butter and garlic salt; stir until melted. Stir in eggs and remaining milk. Pour into 2 quart casserole. Bake, uncovered 30 minutes. Sprinkle grated cheese over top. Bake 15 minutes longer. Makes 6 to 8 servings. |
