CHERRY BARS 
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. flour
1/3 c. milk (optional)
1 can dark sweet cherry pie filling

GLAZE:

1 c. powdered sugar
2 tsp. milk
1 tsp. almond flavoring

Cream the sugar, butter, vanilla, and eggs. Add the baking powder and flour. Place 2/3 of the batter in a 9 x 13 inch pan. Spread the cherry pie filling on top of the batter. Add the additional milk to the remaining batter, if needed. Then place batter on top of the cherry pie filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Drizzle glaze over the top of the cherry bars.
