BRAISED BEEF 
3 tbsp. fat (bacon)
3 lg. onions, sliced
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp. ketchup
2 lbs. cut up stew beef
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 tbsp. flour
1 tbsp. vinegar

Melt fat, fry onions lightly. Add meat, when meat is brown add other ingredients. Pour 2 cups boiling water over this. Cover and simmer over low flame for 1 1/2 hours. If water boils down, add a little more.
