TURTLE COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
72 walnuts or pecans

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla together. Mix flour, soda and salt together, then blend into creamed mixture. Place by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet, placing 2 or 3 nuts on bottom of dough to form turtle legs and head. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. When cooled, frost with chocolate frosting. Makes 1 1/2 to 2 dozen.
