FRESH APPLE CAKE 
1 1/3 c. vegetable oil
2 c. sugar
3 c. plain flour
3 eggs
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. fresh apples, chopped

Blend together vegetable oil, sugar, and eggs well. Sift flour, soda, salt, and cinnamon together. Add to sugar mixture at intervals. Add vanilla. Blend well. Add apples and nuts and stir well. Bake in a greased and floured tube pan for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

TOPPING:

1 c. brown sugar
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. canned milk
Pinch of salt

Cook over low heat until thick. Pour over cake.
