SOFT GINGER COOKIES 
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. salt, optional

Combine dry ingredients and set aside. 1 c. sugar 1 egg 1/4 c. molasses

In a large mixing bowl beat butter, sugar, egg and molasses. Beat well. Stir dry ingredients into beaten mixture. Drop by teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Let cool 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
