SIX - LAYER DINNER 
2 c. raw potatoes
1 c. uncooked rice
2 c. hamburger
1 onion, sliced
1 c. sliced carrots
2 c. canned tomatoes
1-2 c. water

Place ingredients in a greased baking dish. Start with 1 cup water, salt and pepper to taste. Cover and bake in a moderate oven (350 degrees) for about 1 1/2 hours. Check it and add more water if it looks dry. This tastes just like pastry!
