GRANDMA'S KETCHUP | |
1 bushel basket tomatoes 1/2 c. salt (more if needed) 2 tsp. paprika 4 tsp. cinnamon 2 tsp. allspice 4 c. sugar 2 c. vinegar 3 tbsp. dry mustard Cook tomatoes and sieve. Add pepper and salt to taste. Use half of vinegar to mix spices. Add everything to sieved tomatoes and cook down to desired thickness; takes about 6 to 12 hours of cooking down to thicken. Use low to medium heat so you don't burn bottom of pot. Stir frequently. |
