BRIDES POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter (yes real butter)
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
1 sm. can evaporated milk
1 tsp. lemon extract
2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 1/4 c. plain sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream together first three ingredients. Add other ingredients and blend with an electric mixer for 2 minutes. Pour batter into a 10 inch tube pan that has been well greased and floured. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 55 minutes. DO NOT OPEN OVEN DOOR OR WALK HEAVILY ACROSS FLOOR OR SLAM DOORS WHILE CAKE IS BAKING. IT WILL FALL. Turn upside down on cake plate. Leave pan on until cake is cool. This forms a nice crust.
