HOLIDAY BUTTER COOKIES 
1 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating until fluffy. Blend in egg and vanilla. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add gradually to creamed mixture. Blend well. Chill dough several hours. Roll to 1/8 inch thickness. Bake 6-8 minutes at 375 degrees. (3 dozen)
