HASH BROWN POTATO CASSEROLE 
1 (32 oz.) pkg. shredded hash brown potatoes
1/2 c. melted butter
1 can cream of chicken soup (undiluted)
12 oz. grated American cheese (1 sm. box Velveeta)
1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
1 tsp. salt
1 sm. chopped onion (optional)
2 c. crushed cornflakes
1/2 c. melted butter

Melt 1/2 cup butter and Velveeta cheese in the microwave. Mix all ingredients - potatoes, soup, cheese, butter, sour cream and seasoning in large bowl. Pour into 9x13 glass baking dish. Top with crushed corn flakes and melted butter. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serves 12.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
