VEGETABLE SOUP 
2 lb. beef, diced
2 lg. onions, diced
4 sticks celery, diced
1 lg. green pepper, diced
3 sm. garlic, mashed
2 lg. cans tomatoes, mashed
1 qt. beef stock
1 can beer
2 c. red wine
2 qt. water
3 potatoes
3 med. carrots, diced
3 med. turnips, diced
1 sm. cabbage, diced
1/2 c. pearled barley
1 pkg. frozen whole corn
1 pkg. frozen peas
1 pkg. frozen green beans
Worcestershire sauce to taste
A-1 Sauce to taste
Hot sauce (drop)
Salt, pepper, thyme, bay leaves, and parsley to taste
2 cans mushroom pieces

Saute onion, garlic; add celery, pepper. Add beef to saute. Add tomatoes, beef stock, beer, red wine, water, potatoes, carrots, turnips, and cabbage; simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add rest of ingredients. Add water if needed.
