GRANDMA'S BEST CHERRY PIE 
1 can tart pitted cherries, drained, save juice
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. juice (add cranberry juice to cherry juice to make 1 c.)
1/4 tsp. almond extract
2 tbsp. butter
Red food coloring

Mix juice, sugar, cornstarch, extract, and red food coloring. Add cherries. Pour into 8" or 9" crust and dot with butter. Make sure to slit top crust for juice to bubble through. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes or until brown and bubbly. Cover edge of crust with foil to prevent excessive browning. Remove foil last 15 minutes.
