BANANA BREAD 
2 sm. bananas
2 med. eggs
1/2 c. shortening
12 dates, soaked 5 min., drain & chop
1 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
12 sm. walnuts, chopped

Cut up banana and beat to a liquid. Add eggs; beat well. Cream shortening and add to banana mixture; add dates. Mix flour, baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon and nuts. Stir into creamed mixture just enough to moisten. (Do not beat.) Bake in 5 x 9 inch greased loaf pan 325 degrees for 45-60 minutes until done. Serve slightly warm.
