1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
1 c. molasses
1 c. sour milk
4-5 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves, nutmeg, allspice
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts

Sift together dry ingredients. Cream sugar, eggs, shortening, and molasses. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and mix well. Blend in raisins and nuts. Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
