MINCEMEAT-FILLED CRUMB BARS | |
3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 1 c. finely chopped walnuts 1 1/2 c. butter 1 1/4 c. sifted powdered sugar 2 c. all-fruit mincemeat 1 tbsp. all-purpose flour In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the 3 1/2 cups flour and the walnuts; set aside. In a large mixer bowl, beat the butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until softened. Add the powdered sugar and beat until the mixture is fluffy. Add flour and walnut mixture and beat at low speed until mixture is well combined. Press 2/3 of the flour mixture onto the bottom of an ungreased 9x13x2 inch baking pan. Reserve remaining flour mixture. Spread the all fruit mincemeat on top. Stir the 1 tablespoon flour into remaining crumb mixture; sprinkle over top. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until crumbs are golden. Cool completely. Cut into bars. Makes 48 bars. |
