GRANDMA'S BOHEMIAN CARAMEL
DUMPLINGS
 
Melt 1 cup sugar in frying pan over medium heat, stirring until light brown in color. Add 2 cups boiling water and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add an additional 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon butter. Bring just until boiling.

DUMPLING:

1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup sugar

3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. flour

1/2 c. milk

To sugar mixture. Drop by tablespoons into boiling syrup. Cover and let cook over low heat about 12 minutes. DO NOT PEEK! Serve with whipped cream or as is.
