MANDI'S GRANDMA'S CARAMEL
DUMPLINGS
 
SYRUP:

1 1/2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. warm water
1 tbsp. butter
Dash salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Brown 1/2 cup sugar; add remaining 1 cup sugar and rest of ingredients. Boil 10 minutes.

BATTER:

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. baking powder
Dash salt
Flour, enough to make batter stiff

Drop batter in syrup. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Serve hot or cold.
